Marilyn Sebesta, author of the Scout series, has always loved dogs. Growing up in the small community of Snook, Texas, her family always had one or more dogs, but none was really “hers.” She decided several years ago that she needed her own dog, so she selected a chocolate Labrador retriever that she named “Scout.” She had no idea of the adventures that lay ahead for her! Marilyn wrote her first book—Scout, The Dog Who Saved “The Nutcracker”—based on a true experience.
